Carp Are Back - What can we do about it? Seminar

Staff at the Narrandera Fisheries Centre would like to formally invite you to a public information seminar. These seminars are being held at two monthly intervals and will be presented by Fisheries NSW and guest speakers.

Details of the upcoming seminar are as follows:

Date: Friday, 4th October, 3013

Time: 6.30pm (Sharp)

Speaker: Mr Anthony Conallin- Senior Land Services Officer - Murray Catchment Management Authority,

Topic: Carp Are Back - What Can We Do About It?

Location: The John Lake Centre, Narrandera Fisheries Centre, Buckingbong Rd, Narrandera. 

Details: The senimar will discuss why Carp are such a problem in the Murray- Darling Basin, What has led to their recent resurgence, and what is currently being done to control and manage the problem.

Cost: FREE - Includes BBQ meal & light refreshments after the presentation.

 

The John Lake Centre, featuring a native fish aquarium and poster display, will be open before and after the senimarfor anyone wishing to do a casual tour of the facilities, NSW DPI Fisheries staff will also be available if you wish to discuss any topics in greater detail. Presentations will take approximately one hour, with the evening concluding at 8.30pm.

As the John Lake Centre has limited seating capacity, and for catering purposes, it is essential that you book ahead by calling the Narrandera Fisheries Centre on (02) 69588200 between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Bookings will not be accepted after 12pm on the 4th of October and walk-ins on the evening will not be possible.
